Donald Trump has sent National Guard troops into Los Angeles without California's consent. He's mobilizing Texas troops toward Chicago over Illinois's objections. And he's signaled plans to do the same in Portland.
It's a continuation of using emergency powers to subvert the intent of the U.S. Constitution and federal laws. This legal gray area is dangerous, and if left unchecked, future presidents could go even further.

Across the country, ICE and other federal agents are detaining people on the street, at homes, and in workplaces, schools, hospitals, and places of worship.
Agents conducting these raids are frequently wearing masks, and they are frequently not wearing proper uniforms or badges that identify themselves or their agencies.
We must restore accountability and the rule of law to immigration enforcement. Write your Senators and Member of Congress today and ask them to cosponsor S.2212, the VISIBLE Act or H.R. 4176, the No Secret Police Act.
Stop SAVE
On April 10, 2025, the U.S. House of Representatives voted in support of the SAVE Act, a sinister voter suppression bill that would endanger the voting rights of millions of Americans. The bill now moves to the U.S. Senate, and our Senators need to hear from us loud and clear: stop voter suppression, vote NO on the SAVE Act.
