Getting Started

Thank you for volunteering with Activate America! Our postcard program is an easy and meaningful way to help increase voter turnout. You will be writing short, pre-scripted postcards to voters who can make a real difference in upcoming elections across the country.

  • A ready-to-use script for your handwritten message

What you provide:

  • Postcards (purchased or homemade)

  • Postcard stamps

Here are your next steps for getting started:

1. Gather supplies

  • Buy postcard stamps at your post office or USPS.com.

  • Choose postcards: order online, pick up locally, or make your own. Here is a link with our volunteer’s favorite postcard options.

    NOTE: Please avoid pictures of people, controversial statements on the postcard design, and any nudity, even if represented in a painting or picture of a statue.

2. Create a Sincere account

  • Sign up for our postcarding platform, Sincere, by filling out this form.

  • Confirm your email (check Spam/Promotions if needed).

  • By signing up you will be added to our email list so you receive our updates on new campaigns. For more information on our Privacy Policy, click here.

  • If you are part of GrayPAC or another A-Team group, once you are signed up for Sincere check for your group’s page and sign up for your addresses from there!

3. Choose your campaign

  • Once you are logged into Sincere, you can view our current postcard campaigns in the Campaigns tab. You can review the background, deadline, and script for each campaign before requesting addresses.

  • When you’re ready to write postcards, you can select a campaign and request your desired number of addresses.

4. Write your postcards

  • Use the provided script in Sincere.

  • Be sure to read the background info and instructions provided with your script — lots of your questions will be answered!

  • Check the deadline in your script document and mail your postcards on time.

5. Address, stamp & send

  • Write voter address clearly.

  • Add postcard stamp in the top-right corner.

  • Drop in any USPS mailbox.

6. Stay connected

  • Post pictures of your postcards on social media and tag Activate America! (Facebook: Activate America. Instagram and Bluesky: @ActivateVote) and include a link to our postcard sign ups if you can: https://www.activateamerica.vote/postcards. Just make sure to cover addresses before taking photos.

  • Come back anytime to sign up for more addresses and keep an eye out for new campaigns on the main postcards page.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We have a new system for distributing postcard campaign information, Activate America Sincere. All of our current postcard campaigns are available through this system.

    If you don’t have an account with Activate America Sincere: Please fill out the sign up form by clicking here. You will receive an email inviting you to join.

    By signing up you agree to be put on our email list, but you can unsubscribe anytime. Your data will not be shared with other organizations. If you don’t see a reply within 24 hours, please double check your Spam or Promotions folders.

  • We typically ask volunteers to mail postcards within 2-3 weeks of requesting addresses, but we recognize that longer address lists may take longer. The mail deadline for all campaigns is available in the campaign information section on this page and via our new postcarding platform, Sincere.

  • If it has been longer than 24 hours since you requested addresses, please first check your Spam folder for “sincereapp.com.” If you do not see an email from Sincere (our postcarding platform), please email anna@activateamerica.vote

  • No problem! We understand that things come up. You can return addresses to be adopted by other volunteers in Sincere, and please contact us if you have any questions.

  • You can request any number of addresses at a time, and we are so grateful for your efforts!
