Getting Started

Thank you for volunteering with Activate America! Our postcard program is an easy and meaningful way to help increase voter turnout. You’ll be writing short, personal notes on postcards that go directly to voters.

What We Provide:

  • Targeted lists of voter contacts with mailing addresses

  • A ready-to-use script for your handwritten message

What You Provide:

  • Postcards (purchased or homemade)

  • Postcard stamps

Together, these simple steps ensure your postcards are effective and reach the right people at the right time:

1. Gather Supplies

  • Buy postcard stamps at your post office or USPS.com.

  • Choose postcards: order online, pick up locally, or make your own. Here is a link with our volunteer’s favorite postcard options.

    NOTE: Please avoid pictures of people, controversial statements on the postcard design, and any nudity, even if represented in a painting or picture of a statue.

3. Review Your Sincere Assignments

  • Anna, I will need your help here!!!!!!

4. Write Your Postcard

  • Use the provided script in Sincere.

  • Keep it positive, encouraging, and motivating.

5. Address, Stamp & Send

  • Write voter address clearly.

  • Add postcard stamp in the top-right corner.

  • Drop in any USPS mailbox.

6. Stay Connected

  • Share photos of your postcards.

  • Watch deadlines to mail on time.

  • We have a new system for distributing postcard campaign information, Activate America Sincere. All of our current postcard campaigns are available through this system.

    If you don’t have an account with Activate America Sincere: Please fill out the sign up form by clicking here. You will receive an email inviting you to join.

    By signing up you agree to be put on our email list, but you can unsubscribe anytime. Your data will not be shared with other organizations. If you don’t see a reply within 24 hours, please double check your Spam or Promotions folders.

    NOTE: If you are part of GrayPAC or another A-Team group, once you are signed up for Sincere check for your group’s page and sign up for your addresses from there!

  • In general we ask volunteers to mail postcards within 2 -3 weeks of requesting addresses while recognizing larger lists may take longer; most postcards also have a final mail by date.

  • If it has been longer than 24 hours since your order, please first check your Spam folder for “activateamerica.vote” If you do not see an email from us, please email AnnaMartin@activateamerica.vote

  • No problem! We understand. Simply reply to the email from which you received the postcard list and we will send your list to another volunteer.
