The countdown to November has started.

Together, we can elect leaders who will protect what matters most to us.

As we gear up for the November 2024 election, Activate America is excited and ready to get to work in the districts where we can make the most impact. Join us as we come together to protect what matters most to us by electing Democrats to office.

By focusing on these competitive districts early, we will lay the groundwork for success. Click on the lists below to learn more about the states we are active in and how to get involved today.

Arizona

Arizona is a purple state with a deep bench of MAGA extremists who have fully engulfed the Republican Party.

Until recently, Democrats were stuck with the feckless obstruction of Senator Kyrsten Sinema.

Now that she has given up the pretense of being a Democrat, we have an opportunity to replace her with a true blue Democrat, Rep. Ruben Gallego. Two House seats are also especially competitive—both held by Republicans.

Click on the list of candidates to learn more about our target races and how to get involved.

  • If we can elect a Democrat to this seat, we may secure the 50th vote we need to reform the filibuster and change the trajectory of America. From gun safety to democracy protection to raising the minimum wage, helping Ruben Gallego win this election could be the gamechanger the American people deserve.

For more on Ruben Gallego, check out our candidate info sheet..

  • All you need to know about Rep. David Schweikert is he voted to overturn the presidential election AFTER the deadly insurrection on the U.S. Capitol. He betrayed his oath of office. Now that Trump is facing consequences for his betrayal, the least we can do is defeat Schweikert in 2024.

  • First term Congressman Juan Ciscomani squeaked through a close election in 2022, but with a potentially more favorable electorate in 2024, we have the power to send him packing. He’s an anti-abortion extremist who Speaker Kevin McCarthy has tapped for Republican Caucus leadership. Defeating him in 2024 will be a major blow to the MAGA agenda.

California

You may think of California as a Deep Blue state, and for purposes of the presidential election, that’s true. However, California also some of the most disappointing House outcomes in the 2022 election cycle.

When it comes to controlling the House, California is one of the most important swing states for 2024.

California as a whole is unreceptive to MAGA extremists, but multiple Republicans have squeaked into the California House delegation, often pretending to be moderates while voting the GOP party line on climate denialism, gun safety, LGBTQ+ rights, and even certifying the presidential election.

Click on the list of candidates to learn more about our target races and how to get involved.

  • A former 10-year State Assemblymember, Adam Gray is born and raised in Merced, and some of his earliest days were spent working at his family’s dairy supply and feed store.

In the Assembly, he founded the California Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan coalition that worked on building consensus solutions around homelessness and the drought. To tackle the Central Valley’s critical doctor shortage, he secured the resources to establish a joint medical school at UC Merced and UCSF-Fresno, and he passed legislation to double the operating hours of rural health clinics.

With this proven track record of helping people, he’s ready to get to work in the Halls of Congress.

Check out our candidate info sheet for more information on this race.

If you live local to CA-13, consider joining us at an upcoming canvass!

  • A lifelong Central Valley resident, Rudy Salas worked his way up from working in the fields to being the first Latino to serve on the Bakersfield City Council.

Serving 10 years in the State Assembly, he secured more funding for public safety; expanded services for veterans, invested in clean water infrastructure; secured millions of dollars to expand Central Valley nursing programs, and invested in cooling centers for residents exposed to high heats; and helped save Kern Medical Hospital.

He’s focused on what matters most to the Valley and will be a voice for the unheard in Congress.

Check out our candidate info sheet for more information on this race.

Get involved now! Write postcards to voters and remind them to vote Valadao out in November.

  • For George Whitesides, the sky isn’t even the limit. The former Chief of Staff for NASA and the first CEO of Virgin Galactic, space was once his final frontier, but now it’s Congress.

Whitesides is a dedicated philanthropist who has worked to solve what may be California’s most existential threats: megafires made worse by the climate crisis. He has also worked to bring good jobs to the Antelope Valley and to help underprivileged students in the Antelope Valley Union High School District.

Whitesides will bring a can do spirit to the House, focused on the most important challenges facing America.

Write postcards to voters and remind them to support George Whitesides this November!

  • You’ll often hear us say that “candidate quality matters,” and Will Rollins is the textbook example of this. When he ran for Congress in 2022, at first few people gave him much of a chance. He was running in a district that Trump won in 2020 yet came tantalizingly close to winning.

A former federal prosecutor focused on counterrorism and an out and proud gay man looking to represent the district that includes Palm Springs, Rollins is strongly positioned to achieve the upset of 2024.

We are working to turn his narrow victory in 2022 into a tremendous defeat in 2024.

For more information on this race, check out our info sheet!

  • To say that Derek Tran believes in the American Dream is an understatement.

An Army veteran, consumer attorney, city commissioner, and small business owner, Tran’s parents were refugees from Vietnam who left everything behind to give Derek a chance at a better life. They opened a corner market where Derek worked before enlisting in the Army.

Derek is 100% pro-choice, and he’s pledged to fight back against MAGA attacks on Social Security and Medicare.

  • Elected to the State Senate in 2020, Dave Min is the Democratic choice to replace Rep. Katie Porter, who endorsed him before her unsuccessful U.S. Senate run created an open seat in the highly competitive 47th District.

Luckily, Min is ready and able. He’s helped create 28 laws, including ones enshrining abortion rights into the State Constitution, expanding protections for domestic abuse survivors, and acting with urgency to address the climate crisis.

Min is ready to carry on Porter’s legacy as a strong consumer advocate, but first, we need to make sure he keeps CA-47 blue this November.

Sign up to write postcards to voters and remind them to support Dave Min this November!

Nevada

There’s no state in the country where Democratic and progressive organizers get a better return on their investment than Nevada.

It’s a presidential swing state; it’s home to a highly competitive Senate race; and three of its four House seats are competitive. That means almost every voter you reach has the potential to make a big difference in three races that matter for national control of our nation.

  • Senator Jacky Rosen has only served in the Senate for one term, but she’s accomplished a lot during her brief tenure. She is one of the key architects of the landmark 2021 bipartisan infrastructure bill that delivered thousands of jobs to Nevada while fixing roads and making high speed Internet more affordable. She’s an effective leader willing to work across the aisle, and she deserves to be re-elected. For more information on this race, check out our info sheet!

  • It feels like a lifetime ago, but when the Great Recession and subprime mortgage crisis put our economy in freefall under President George W. Bush, no community was harder hit than Las Vegas. Then a freshman in Congress, Rep. Dina Titus was a clarion voice to help the afflicted, tirelessly urging Congress to act. She’s earned this seat.

  • Rep. Susie Lee comes to Congress with years of experience in our public schools. She knows that a quality education can transform lives for the better, and we need that kind of focus in the House of Representatives. Prior to joining Congress, she served as President of Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS), a leading dropout prevention organization serving more than 64,000 students in 63 Nevada schools.

  • As Nevada’s first Black State Senate Majority Leader, Steven Horsford led the charge on an ambitious Clean Energy Jobs Initiative. Prior to that he led the Culinary Training Academy, Nevada’s largest job training program. In Congress, he’s been an advocate for affordable prescription drugs and direct relief to struggling families. For him, common sense gun safety is personal: his father was killed in a random act of gun violence, and he doesn’t want any other family to go through the trauma his family was forced to endure.

New York

You may think of New York as a Deep Blue state, and for purposes of the presidential election, that’s true. However, New York also some of the most disappointing House outcomes in the 2022 election cycle.

When it comes to controlling the House, New York is one of the most important swing states for 2024.

Since the Democratic presidential ticket will win comfortably here in 2024, New York will not get the attention it deserves. A prime opportunity to flip those seats from Red to Blue will be lost without your help. Together, we can change the course of American history and ensure that Democrats control the House come 2025.

  • Thank you for all your efforts electing Tom Suozzi in the February 13th special election! Stay tuned for more information on our work in this district as we move closer to November.

  • Joe Biden won this district by almost 15 points. With Biden on the ballot again in 2024, Rep. Anthony D’Esposito should be worried. He sees no problem with states banning abortion access, and he’s opposed to banning military grade assault weapons designed to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible. He’s too extreme for NY-04.

  • Rep. Mike Lawler is one lucky politician. This is a district that Biden won by more than 10 points, but Lawler held his head down and rode a regional Democratic Party failure to victory. Now all eyes are on him, and as he votes with the MAGA extremists in Congress, his true colors are showing.

  • A West Point graduate and former military intelligence officer with two tours of duty in Iraq, Democratic Rep. Pat Ryan understands how important it is to keep America safe. A former Ulster County Executive, cabinet official in the Governor’s office, and successful entrepreneur, Ryan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to serve the people of the Hudson Valley.

  • Rep. Marc Molinaro hasn’t been in Congress for long, but once upon a time, he was in the State Assembly and even ran for Governor. He voted against prohibiting domestic abusers from possessing firearms and opposed the SAFE Act, which banned military style assault weapons. In 2024, his time is up.

For more information on Marc Molinaro, check out our info sheet.

  • In the wake of the mass shooting in Uvalde, TX, Rep. Brandon Williams argued against the kinds of extreme risk “red flag laws” that could have saved lives that day. We think when voters get wind of how extreme he is, he won’t be long for Congress.

Ohio

We have been actively involved in Ohio this election cycle, on the phones and with postcards to voters. Extremists MAGA republicans are looking to strip away access to abortion care and lead the way for other states to do the same—but we wont let them.

We believe that this work also will help Democrats prevail in 2024. In a state that has trended red in recent elections, Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown is a beacon of hope and a courageous leader, and he’s joined by three House Democrats also in tight elections.

Click to learn more about the races we are watching in Ohio and see ways you can take action and get involved today.

  • Senator Sherrod Brown was first elected to the state legislature in 1975, and he’s represented Ohio voters in one form or another ever since. He understands the political pulse of his state better than anyone, and it’s helped him win election after election as a proud pro-labor Democrat despite the state’s increasingly red trajectory. Ohioans are lucky to have a principled leader like Senator Brown, and we’re excited to fight hard and help him win.

  • Previously a Cincinnati City Councilman and advocate for early learning, Rep. Greg Landsman defeated a 13-term Republican incumbent in 2022. This impressive feat shocked the Republican Party in Ohio, and defeating him will be one of their top priorities in 2024. Still, this is a district that Biden won in 2020, and with your help, we’ll help ensure that Landsman beats back whatever MAGA extremist comes his way.

  • Rep. Marcy Kaptur is a force of nature. Representing a district that Trump carried by almost three points, she crushed her opponent in 2022, winning by double digits. Over her four decades in Congress, Kaptur has earned bipartisan support by proving that she’s a fierce defender of working families. We’re eager to help her win a 21st term!

  • The former Democratic Leader of the Ohio House of Representatives, Rep. Emilia Sykes earned the trust of Democrats in her state before ever seeking a seat in Congress. Born and raised in Akron, Sykes is focused on creating economic opportunity and expanding access to affordable health care.

Pennsylvania

You may think of PA as a safely blue state, but there are many Democratic leaders up for re-election this year that need our help if we want to see Democratic control of the House and the Senate.

We were proud to help elect Senator John Fetterman in 2022 (the only Senate flip that election cycle), and we also concentrated our efforts in three of the most competitive House districts in the country.

This election cycle, the state’s incumbent Democratic Senator, Bob Casey, Jr., is up for re-election, and the state will once again be one of the most hotly contested states in the presidential election.

Click on the list of candidates to learn more about our target races and how to get involved.

  • In 2006, Bob Casey, Jr. resoundingly defeated then-Senator Rick Santorum, removing a Republican proto-MAGA extremist from Congress, and he’s ably served in the U.S. Senate ever since. Senator Casey, the son of a legendary Pennsylvania Governor, has always outperformed other Democrats in the state, but we’re taking nothing for granted.

  • The first woman to serve as Allentown City Solicitor, Rep. Susan Wild ran a successful law practice before entering Congress. She’s a courageous fighter for the working class and a champion for the union jobs that built Pennsylvania’s middle class. She helped lead the charge to cap prescription drug costs, including insulin for diabetes, and she describes voting for the Lower Drug Costs Now Act as one of her proudest days in office.

  • Rep. Matt Cartwright was named one of the most effective House Democrats by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking, and for good reason. He’s introduced more bipartisan bills than any other House Democrat and serves on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. He represents one of the most Republican-leaning districts held by a House Democrat, yet he’s stood with us time and time again, from infrastructure to voting rights to climate action.

  • A lot of House Republicans voted with the insurrectionists to overturn American democracy in the 2020 election.

Almost no one played as central a role as Rep. Scotty Perry. Among the numerous texts he sent to high-ranking Republican operatives plotting to overthrow the election was one asking the Trump Administration to invalidate the vote in Pennsylvania.

We happen to think all voters in the 10th District deserve to have their vote counted in 2024.

  • A Pittsburgh-area native, Iraq War veteran, and voting rights attorney, Chris Deluzio is an impressive and inspiring candidate. We were proud to help elect him in 2022. After seeing combat in Iraq, he became a successful voting rights lawyer. Committed to worker rights, while serving as faculty and a cyber security expert at University of Pittsburgh, he helped the faculty form a union with the help of the United Steelworkers.

Why Activate America?

Activate America was established in California in 2017. We had the vision to invest in competitive House districts early, and we helped flip seven California House seats blue. We are campaign professionals with a proven track record of mobilizing grassroots activists and organizations to connect with the voters who can turn narrow losses into narrow wins. By focusing on these flippable districts early, we will lay the groundwork for success.

Your early investment will help us mobilize volunteers, build alliances with like-minded grassroots organizations, and identify the persuadable voters who can be convinced to vote for Democrats and the Democratic voters who might stay home without a nudge.

We’ve done it before. With your early support, we’ll do it again.
